I feel like I'm back in 1995. I remember being amazed viewing files off a computer on the other side of the world. I wondered then, what networking computers could achieve. Now I wonder what new functions will fulfill a need, which will become killer applications like email. I do feel exposed and I wonder if it’s for everyone. Will the verbally biased or shy amongst us thrive in this environment?
What is the authority of this information? I know a book is good and a .gov is better than a .com web site (mostly). How how we measure it in Web 2.0? What about other indicators? E.g. currency, location and where they got their information.
A blog looks like the way news has been posted on websites: coming events and press releases. Bloggs have added interactivity and hype. People can add posts, good and bad. Will this be the voice of the noisy minority or steams of consciousness from the genuinely interested and excited? Blogs are by nature archives for all to see, exposing our pasts/lives/business for value judgment. Our current and future events may be prejudged by the perceived quality and quantity of the trail we leave.
Just a thought, if everyone is going to be dong this, how do we get someone to notice ours, when they’re too busy writing their own?
